Medicaid Enrollment
The process of enrolling a provider to participate in a state Medicaid program, with requirements that vary from state to state.
Medicaid enrollment registers a provider with a specific state's Medicaid program so they can serve Medicaid beneficiaries and bill for covered services. Because Medicaid is administered at the state level, the required applications, screening rules, and revalidation cycles differ from state to state and from federal Medicare enrollment. Providers practicing across state lines often must enroll separately in each state, and managed Medicaid plans may add their own payer enrollment steps.
