Provider Directory
A payer's public listing of in-network providers, whose accuracy is regulated and tied directly to roster data.
A provider directory is the public-facing list a payer publishes so members can find clinicians who participate in their network. It typically includes details like specialty, location, contact information, and whether a provider is accepting new patients. Because regulators hold plans accountable for keeping these listings accurate, the directory must stay in sync with the underlying roster and depends on disciplined provider data management. When directory data drifts out of date, it can create a ghost network and jeopardize compliance with access standards.
