OIG Exclusion
A determination by the U.S. Office of Inspector General that bars an individual or entity from participating in federal health care programs.
Organizations must screen providers against the OIG List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE) before hire and periodically thereafter, because employing or contracting with an excluded party can trigger significant penalties.
