ABMS
The American Board of Medical Specialties is the umbrella organization of member boards that certify physician specialties and serves as a source for verifying board certification.
ABMS is the umbrella body whose member boards grant specialty certification to physicians who meet defined training and examination requirements. During credentialing it acts as an authoritative source for confirming a physician's board certification. Verifying directly through ABMS or its member boards supports proper primary source verification.
