OPPE is a Joint Commission expectation that hospitals continuously monitor the performance of practitioners who hold clinical privileges, with reviews typically occurring around every six months. The data gathered helps confirm that a practitioner should keep their current privileging. When a review raises a concern, it may trigger a more targeted FPPE.
