PSV
Primary Source Verification — confirming a credential directly with the issuing authority rather than relying on a provider-supplied copy.
PSV is the verification standard expected by accreditors. Rather than trusting a photocopied license, the verifier queries the issuing body — a state board, a certifying board, or a school — to confirm the credential is valid.
