LEIE
The OIG List of Excluded Individuals and Entities, screened so organizations avoid employing or contracting with parties barred from federal healthcare programs.
The LEIE is the List of Excluded Individuals and Entities maintained by the Office of Inspector General, identifying people and organizations barred from participating in Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal healthcare programs. Organizations screen against the LEIE so they do not employ or contract with an excluded party, since doing so can trigger significant civil penalties. Checking the LEIE is a core part of sanctions screening and supports compliance with OIG exclusion requirements.
