NPDB
The National Practitioner Data Bank is a federal repository of malpractice payments, adverse actions, and sanctions that is queried during credentialing.
The NPDB is a federal database that collects reports of malpractice payouts, licensure and clinical-privilege actions, and certain other sanctions against practitioners. Organizations query it during credentialing to surface adverse history that might not appear elsewhere, making it a key part of primary source verification and broader sanctions screening. Rather than running one-time checks, many organizations use Continuous Query to receive ongoing alerts.
